Homemade Cheong Fun

I have a great fun making these cheong fun, which is simple and easy, with a bit of patience you are able to enjoy it.  It is so delicious, and is not as oily as the Yum Cha place definitely.  The sauce is something never to be missed!

Taiwanese Lo Bak Go (2)

From all of the Lo Bak Go that I have made so far,  I would say this is the best.
If one follows the required ingredients suggested strictly, it would definitely deliver a very good Lo Bak Go. It all comes down to the flavour and texture. It did not fail me even without any wheat or corn startch added, very smooth texture!

Brown Rice Lo Bak Go ( taiwanese version 1)

Taiwanese Lo Bak Go is slightly different from the Hong Kong Cantonese type, less ingredients used, texture is different too here. Nice and yummy though.

Fry Bread

Inside is airy, puffy, moist and light. Outside is crispy. A very tasty bread. The method used here is slightly different from the usual Indian fry breads, I noticed.  A satisfactory experiment for me.

Light brown sugar (Bak Tong Go)

It's the similar recipe and method to Bak Tong Go and Muscovado Bak Tong Go, I just swapped to the different type of sugar used.

Black eye bean rice cake

The method of making this is similar to Lo Bak Go.  What I love is the generous amount of beans used in this recipe which is packed with lots of nutrients.  Minced pork will deliver great meaty taste, which I like to do in the next occasion...

Roti Canai

I never thought I would be able to make roti canai, indeed a very good experience for me. We had a good Nyonya curry chicken and roti canai for the dinner, everyone smiled. Thanks to Poh's Kitchen :)

Pumpkin Steamed cake

This is the same recipe as the Never Fail Lo Bak Go, I only had 200g pumpkin mash that was frozen earlier on, thawed it and used it all here.  The result was perfect, we enjoyed it.

Pan-fry Sweet Potato cake ( sesame and dessicated coconut)

This is actually quite light snack and I made double batch here.  Originally the recipe uses pumpkin mash, I used orange sweet potato mash instead. To pan fry these cakes,  you only need very little oil so this is quite healthy as compared to store bought.

Never fail Lo Bak Go

Beside this recipe, I have tried and tasted many different Lo Bak Go recipes over the months, I should say this is the best so far and it is just as good as the one in Yum Cha Place.  Good to keep this.

Pumpkin Crepes

My daughter decorated hers
These Crepes are good, not overly sweet and I like the idea of adding a bit of cornstarch,  gives a very nice texture in the end.

Bread pudding

I have learnt not to waste food, with the leftover bread, I made this simple yet delicious bread pudding.

American Breakfast Pancakes

fluffy and delicious
American pancakes are often eaten with warm maple syrup and crisp fried bacon.
My children like it plain with just  warm syrup alone, so this morning I made this simple easy one.
